Xinjiang Uighur Restaurant
So this weekend some friends and I went to get some Uighur food in Shanghai. For those who don’t know, Uighurs are Muslim Chinese who live in the Western province of Xinjiang. It’s one of the largest provinces of China and borders Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. Its culture is very different than the Han Chinese culture of the East. So, it’s even a treat for most Chinese people to enjoy the food.
